The 40mm variant has a screen resolution of 324 x 394 pixels, while the 44mm variant has 368 x 448 pixels. The smartwatch also comes with an always-on altimeter that provides real-time elevation.
The smartwatch is powered by an upgraded dual-core S6 System in Package (SiP) based on the A13 Bionic chip in iPhone 11, which offers up to 20 percent faster performance. It also features the new U1 chip and Ultra-Wideband antennas, which enables short-range wireless location to support new experiences, such as digital car keys.
Apple Watch Series 6 comes with a new Blood Oxygen sensor that measures the oxygen saturation (SpO2) of the user’s blood. It uses four clusters of green, red, and infrared LEDs, along with the four photodiodes to measure light reflected from the blood. Then the Blood Oxygen app calculates the oxygen saturation, which is designed to measure the blood oxygen between 70 percent and 100 percent, using an advanced custom algorithm. Users will be able to track and manage all the data on the Health app. It also includes the electrical heart sensor.
